Seeing "shopify.com / referral" in Google Analytics usually happens when a customer is redirected back to your store after completing checkout on Shopify’s hosted checkout page. Since Shopify's checkout operates on a separate domain, Google Analytics sometimes treats it as a referral when the customer returns to your site

To fix this, you should add "shopify.com" to your referral exclusion list in Google Analytics. This way, Shopify won’t be counted as a referring source, and your data will more accurately reflect where your traffic is coming from

Referral sessions from Shopify.com can happen due to various reasons, like customers returning to your store after interacting with Shopify’s checkout or support pages. It can also be linked to certain Shopify apps or features. Check your analytics to see the session paths for more insights. Hope this helps
