SEO, AdWords, affiliates, advertising, and promotions
I have a product that already sells well on Amazon, and I just created a Shopify store.
Where do I begin with getting traffic to my new store?
It doesn't matter to me if it's a paid or free method, I would just like to know where a store owner should start in order to get regular visitors to the shopify store.
Thank you for you help!
Use platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn to promote your store and engage with potential customers. You can create profiles on these platforms, post updates about your products, and run paid advertising campaigns to reach a wider audience.
100% start with Google Shopping / Google ads. That will get you immediate traffic by people shopping for your product, and immediate sales.
Make sure you have email marketing software to start capturing visitors and customers. I like Klaviyo. And I like using an email capture for new visitors, for example get 10% off your first order by entering your email. That will get you increased conversion rate + allow you to start building an email list, which you can use for lots of things, for example if you launch a new, complementary product.
Long term, social media is great for brand building (usually Instagram is a great start but depends on your product / audience and what you want to focus on), but conversion rates are usually lower than for Google ads.
And of course SEO, a good SEO audit by a professional will help you get the foundations dialed in, and help you work on a link building strategy (getting other sites to link to you). I also like blogging to generate content for search engines, write articles / guides for people searching for your product, you can develop trust plus capture them in the pre-buying stage.
FYI if you're interested in automatically fulfilling Shopify orders with your Amazon inventory, this guide shows you how: How to Automate Shopify Order Fulfillment with Amazon MCF / FBA.
For finding quality people for Google Ads, social media, SEO, this can be challenging. Best place is a recommendation from someone you know. If you don't have that, you can try Upwork, so you can see reviews about projects similar to yours, other than that, Shopify Experts can give some leads.
Whoever you hire, I would ask for case studies and any articles they've written. I've found that people that have written on the topic / are thought leaders usually have great experience and do quality work.
One thing to remember is that traffic is just part of your overall marketing plan. So, before worrying too much about traffic, put together a basic marketing plan and funnel so you can make the most of the traffic you get.
For example, understand who you're targeting, how to reach them, and how to convert them. One path might look like Instagram > email list > conversion > cross-sell/upsell > referral. Another might be SEO > website > conversion > email list > cross-sell/upsell > referral, etc.
Thinking through that first will at least give you a framework to start testing to understand what works so you can iterate. Coincidentally, I recently wrote a blog post on creating a marketing plan for Shopify stores in 30 minutes here in case it's helpful.
But the bottom line is to get some sort of funnel in place before worrying too much about traffic, spending on ads, or anything so you can track and measure to understand what's working. That way you can double down on what works, which is the best way to get momentum for new stores.

Congratulations on creating your new Shopify store! I have a few suggestions for you to get traffic to your new store.
1. Start with your existing customer base
As you are selling your product on Amazon, you likely have a customer base that is interested in your product. You can reach out to your existing customers and let them know that you now have a Shopify store. You can also offer them a discount or incentive to shop on your new store.
2. Utilize social media
Social media is a great way to promote your new store and connect with potential customers. You can create social media accounts for your store and share product photos, promotions, and other engaging content. You can also use social media advertising to target specific audiences.
3. Search engine optimization (SEO)
Optimize your store for search engines so that customers can easily find your store when searching for your product. Use relevant keywords in your product descriptions, titles, and meta tags. You can also create blog content to improve your SEO and attract more visitors to your store.
4. Paid advertising
Consider using paid advertising platforms like Google Ads, Facebook Ads, or Instagram Ads to drive traffic to your store. You can set specific targeting criteria to reach your desired audience and drive traffic to your store.
5. Influencer marketing
Work with influencers in your industry to promote your store and products. Influencers can help you reach a larger audience and build trust with potential customers.
6. Collaborate with other businesses
Partner with other businesses or brands in your industry to promote each other's products and cross-promote to each other's audiences.
These are just a few ideas to get you started. Ultimately, the best approach will depend on your specific product, target audience, and budget. It's important to experiment with different methods and track your results to determine what works best for your store.
Hope you find this helpful

Hi there,
Congrats on launching your Shopify store! Generating traffic to your new store is essential to its success. Here are a few suggestions to help you get started:
Leverage your existing Amazon audience: Since your product already sells well on Amazon, you can tap into that existing audience. Add a link to your Shopify store on your Amazon product page and let your Amazon customers know that you now have a Shopify store where they can purchase more of your products.
Leverage an ambassador / influencer affiliate marketing program: An ambassador or influencer can help promote your store to their followers and generate traffic. Tools like LoudCrowd enables you to leverage your existing customers as your marketing army on social. You can reward these people with free product for their content OR commissions for driving sales.
I hope these suggestions help you get started with generating traffic to your new Shopify store. Let me know if you have any questions.
Make your store easy to find on the internet by using special words that people might search for when they want to buy something like what you're selling.
Use websites like Instagram and Facebook to tell people about your store and show them pictures of your products.
Use email to send messages to people who might be interested in buying your products.
Work with people who have a lot of followers on Instagram or other websites to help you tell even more people about your store.
Use special ads to help more people see your store when they're using the internet.
And if you want to save time telling people about your store on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, you can use a special tool called Social Schedular that will do it for you automatically!

since you have customers on Amazon, you can also try social selling and conversational selling.
It is important not to confuse selling on social media with social media marketing and advertising. Social selling means direct and personal interaction with customers via their social media activity to create a sense of credibility and establish a relationship. Social media marketing, on the other hand, means conducting promotional activities using the company’s social media accounts and building brand awareness that way.
Hi @chm ,
Starting with driving traffic to your new Shopify store involves a multi-faceted approach. Initially, leveraging social media platforms can significantly boost your visibility. Platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest are great for showcasing your products, especially if you already have a following from Amazon. Paid advertising through Google Ads and Facebook Ads can also provide immediate traffic to your store, allowing you to target specific demographics and interests.
For a long-term strategy, SEO is crucial. This is where SEOPro can significantly help. SEOPro can assist you in optimizing your product pages and collections for search engines by identifying and fixing common SEO issues, such as missing keywords or inadequate product descriptions. By improving your SEO, you're more likely to attract organic traffic from Google, leading to sustained growth over time.
