SEO, AdWords, affiliates, advertising, and promotions
All my blogposts on my shopify store get: Scanned – not currently indexed.
Here can you visit the store and here is a example blog post of nmn.
And i think the problem is the url and site structure with breadcrumbs in Shopify.
Now it becomes: https://domain.se/blogs/news/article-of-something
That it gets dupliate content on blog articles maybe with:
https://domain.se/blogs/news/tagged/ataghere
I have searched on google and here and cant find a good answer how to make the shopify blog so it gets indexed.
This must be a really common problem.
I checked the canonical tags on a blog post and the tagged page. No issues there.
Hi @Tongkatbutiken,
Seeing the status "Scanned – not currently indexed" for your blog posts is quite common, especially for new content. This simply means that Google hasn't deemed the content valuable enough to index at this moment.
To help get your Shopify blog posts indexed by Google, here are a few things you can try:
Share on Social Media: Share your blog posts on your social media profiles to increase visibility and encourage users to visit and share your content.
Internal Links: Create internal links to your blog posts from other pages on your website. This helps Google discover and index your content more easily.
Backlinks: Work on building backlinks to your blog posts from other reputable websites, blogs, or forums. Quality backlinks can boost your content's authority in the eyes of search engines.
Keyword Optimization: Ensure your blog posts are well-optimized for relevant keywords. Use relevant and natural keywords in your content, headings, and meta tags.
Remember, it may take some time for Google to recognize the value of your content and index it. Be patient, and with consistent efforts, your blog posts should start appearing in Google's search results.
Hi @Tongkatbutiken,
There are many reasons that blog post may not be indexed. I can see your site is relatively new and doesn't generate much organic traffic yet. With so much content to index, and the cost of retrieval for Google to actually find, crawl, value and then index your content, you site needs some trust and authority.
If you've submitted your sitemap in GSC, also use the URL inspection tool to manually request indexing of the blog post. It's good practice also to link to and from other relevant blog posts and pages of your site. Try and doe this with relevant anchor text in the body of the content. It will be more beneficial than menu, carousel or footer links.
There are things you can do to speed up the process. For example, you can install the Yoast SEO plugin and make sure you have it set up properly. You can also submit your XML sitemap to Google Search Console. This will also give you access to the URL Inspection Tool which you can use to inspect the status of individual posts.
Moreover, here are some steps that you can consider.
Check for Noindex Tags: Ensure that your blog posts don't have a "noindex" tag. You can check this in the Shopify admin by going to the blog post, clicking on "Visibility," and making sure the "Search engines" option is selected.
Breadcrumbs: While breadcrumbs are generally good for user experience, they may not directly impact indexing. However, if your breadcrumbs create duplicate content issues, you may want to review and adjust them.
Patience: It will take time for search engines to index new content. Be patient and continue to monitor the situation.
