Try the following:

  • Ensure that the pictures you are trying to upload are in a supported file format (such as JPEG or PNG) and that they are not too large in size.
  • Make sure you have the necessary permissions to upload files in your Shopify account. If you are not the account owner or do not have the appropriate user role, you may encounter restrictions on uploading media files. Contact the account owner or administrator to confirm your permissions.
  • Clear cache and cookies in your browser.
  • Try a different browser or device.
  • If none of the above solutions work, it's best to reach out to Shopify's customer support for further assistance.

Hi @Nicola11111,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community! I'm happy to provide some assistance with adding images to products, to ensure this gets resolved. To gather a bit more information, are you able to share what media type you're attempting to upload?

While various file types are accepted within the Shopify admin, PNG is the best file type for most product images. Additionally, your product and collection images need to have a file size smaller than 20 MB to be successfully added to Shopify. To learn more, you can check out our Product Media Types document as it touches on this further.

If you've confirmed that the images meet those requirements but continue to receive an error, please attempt the following troubleshooting steps outlined below to see if this helps to resolve. These steps include:

  • Clear your Cache and Cookies.
  • Access the shop in an Incognito Tab.
  • Try accessing the shop from Another Browser (i.e Chrome, Firefox, or Safari).
  • Try Another Device.
  • Try accessing from the Shopify Mobile App.
  • Try Restarting your device.
  • Make sure your device is Up To Date.

If after attempting all of the steps outlined above, the issue persists, please Contact Us directly. This will allow for our advisor team to take a closer look as we don't have access to any account information through the Community.

To contact us, you can:

  • Head over to our Support Page.
  • Log into your shop.
  • Select the topic 'Starting a store'.
  • Scroll to the bottom of the page to view all available support options.

Please let me know if you have any other concerns.

Hello @Nicola11111,

This is Gina from flareAI app helping Shopify merchants get $6Million+ in sales from Google Search, on autopilot.

Do you have any screenshots to share?

Meanwhile below are a few possible solutions you can try.

1. Ensure that the image files you are attempting to upload meet Shopify's requirements. Supported file formats include JPG, PNG, TIFF, WebP and GIF. Additionally, check the file size limit imposed by Shopify, which is typically 20 MB per file.

2. Clear your browser's cache and cookies to eliminate any temporary issues that may be causing the problem. Sometimes outdated or corrupted data can interfere with file uploads.

3. Attempt uploading your images using a different web browser. Sometimes browser-related issues can affect file uploads. Popular browsers like Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Safari are generally compatible with Shopify.

4. Temporarily disable any browser extensions or plugins that might interfere with the file upload process. Some extensions can restrict certain functionalities on websites.

If none of the above solutions work, it's recommended to reach out to Shopify's support team directly. They can provide specific assistance and troubleshoot the issue further.
