Since I desynchronize the merchant center feed from my google shopify channel I lost google ads tracking Google Shopping App Purchase . The google channel is still installed but I just disconnected the merchant center feed because I installed synprosis. Do you know why this had an effect on my tracking? How i can resolve it?

Hi @digitalecom

Try this

  1. Reconnect the Merchant Center feed to your Google Shopify channel or ensure that Synprosis is correctly set up to pass the necessary data to Google Ads for tracking.

  2. Check your Google Ads account settings to make sure that your tracking tags are properly installed and set up.

  3. Monitor your campaigns closely to ensure that the data is being tracked correctly.

  4. If you continue to have issues with tracking, reach out to Google Ads support for further assistance.

Why -> Because the Google Channel had the conversion tracking included. By deleting the app, you deleted the conversion setup. By re-installing the Google Channel may not resolve the issue as I found that it does not always re-connect the conversion tracking.

However this step is not what you should do, considering you want to use symprosis. So in this case I recommend you manually setup conversion tracking.

Hi,
Disconnecting the merchant center feed from your Google Shopify channel may have caused a disruption in your Google Ads tracking for Google Shopping app purchases because the feed is the source of the product data that is used to create Shopping ads. When the feed is disconnected, the product data may not be updated in Google Ads, which could lead to discrepancies in tracking.

To resolve this issue, you can try the following steps:

  1. Reconnect the merchant center feed to your Google Shopify channel. This will ensure that the product data is up-to-date in Google Ads.

  2. Check the tracking settings in your Google Ads account to ensure that they are properly configured. You should verify that the tracking code is installed correctly on your website and that the conversion tracking is set up for the correct actions.

  3. Test your tracking by placing a test order on your website and verifying that the conversion is being tracked in Google Ads.

  4. If you are still experiencing issues with tracking, you can reach out to Google Ads support for further assistance.

In summary, reconnecting the merchant center feed to your Google Shopify channel should help resolve the issue with tracking Google Shopping app purchases in Google Ads. Additionally, verifying your tracking settings and testing your tracking should help ensure that everything is properly configured.

Hello @digitalecom,

I am Gina from flareAI app helping Shopify merchants get $5Million+ in sales from Google Search, on autopilot. I am here to support you.

When you disconnected the Merchant Center feed from your Google Shopify channel, it's possible that the tracking code for Google Shopping App Purchase was also removed, which could be the reason why you lost the tracking. The tracking code is typically included in the feed that is sent to Google Merchant Center, so if the feed is not being sent, then the tracking code will not be triggered.

To resolve this issue, you should ensure that the tracking code is added back to your Shopify store. You can do this by following these steps:

1. Go to your Google Ads account and navigate to "Tools & Settings" > "Conversions".

2. Click on the "+Conversion" button to create a new conversion.

3. Select "Website" as the source of your conversion and give it a name, such as "Google Shopping App Purchase".

4. Follow the prompts to set up the conversion tracking code. You will need to copy the tracking code and paste it into your Shopify store.

5. In Shopify, go to "Settings" > "Online Store" > "Preferences" and scroll down to the "Google Analytics" section.

6. Paste the tracking code in the "Additional Google Analytics JavaScript" box and save the changes.

Once you have added the tracking code back to your store, you should test it to ensure that it is working properly. You can do this by placing a test order and checking to see if the conversion is being tracked in your Google Ads account. If it is not working, you may need to contact Google Ads support for further assistance.
