Why do I not have a unique collection page?

I have 2 collections set up, and a link in the main navigation that shows both collections. There are links to each individual collection with the purpose of going to a page to show the products of the collection. Each collection has products within it that are active. When I click on the link to go to that individual collection, it redirects me to the same page with all the collection parent links on it. When I go to my back end to my collection and hit "view page" on that collection, it also brings me to the same page that shows all the collections but no products. How do I open up the individual collection to show products????

Are you sure the links you created in the navigation are set up correctly? Maybe double check?

Yes, I went to my collection that I'm linking it to, and when I hit "preview collection" it's not bringing me to solely the products in that collection. It's bringing me to that same page with the collection links.
