Why isn't my ecommerce tracking data showing in Google Analytics?

Hello,

I'm having issues with the ecommerce tracking for data that appears in Universal Analytics. Even if the setup has been made correctly from my side, there is no data in the Google Analytics account. Is possible that there is a piece of code that is blocking the tracking of the orders?

Thank you.

Hi @hdcweb ,

You can't track checkout process with Google tracking code. Please check the post. Unless you are Shopify plus plan.

Alternatively you may use plugins like Attribuly  to tracking customer purchase and attribute to your marketing campaigns.

Have a good day!

Hi @hdcweb

This is PageFly - Landing Page Builder. I would love to provide my recommendations for your store based on 7 years of providing solutions for about 150,000 active Shopify merchants.

There are some common issues that happen when we set up Google Analytics, I don't have your website here to check, but you may go through the suggestions from me to find out:

1- Make sure the Tracking ID match: when you create a UA property you will have a code like UA-12345-12, please check if that ID is enabled on your site.

You can add a Chrome extension call Tag Assistant Legacy by Google

Here is how you can use that extension https://youtu.be/_7zoJR6uq2g

2- If the IDs are mismatched, you can add the right ID again in the Online Stores > Preferences

If you find that no ID found by the Tag Assistant, you can copy the Java Script code from Google Analytics and paste it here

You can compare your process with our guide on setting up GA (visual guide included) https://pagefly.link/QEbpNwPy

3- If all is set, you can check the real time report.

Open your website in Incognito Mode or just make sure none of the extensions are running in your browser that might block JavaScript. In addition, make sure you haven’t filtered your own IP address.

If the suggestion above don't help you resolve the issue, you may check this article https://holini.com/google-analytics-isnt-working/ they mention more guidance.

I also hope the suggestions will help you solve the problem. If you think they do help, please let me know by giving it a Like. Thank you!
