Hi @Psps,

Have you tried to check if the snippet code above appear in your theme.liquid file?

Hello @PageFly-Richard

I have tried all the things you recommended to make the favicon show up in Google search results. However, it's still not appearing when I search on Google. Can you assist me with this issue?

My website URL is:

Hi @Psps

This is Richard from PageFly - Shopify Page Builder App

If you've chosen a theme from the Shopify theme store, your website's favicon will show up immediately in the browser tab. If you're using a custom or third-party theme, you must confirm that the theme includes a code that specifies a favicon to display in the search results.

Furthermore, there's one snippet located in the theme.liquid file that contributes to the favicon appearance on the search engine. You can try to head over to Online store > Themes > Actions > Edit Code > Theme.liquid and find this snippet below:

  {%- if settings.favicon != blank -%}

    <link rel="shortcut icon" href="{{ settings.favicon | img_url: '32x32' }}" type="image/png">

  {%- endif -%}

You can simply try to add it back if it's not there.

Hope this help. Feel free to ask me if you have any questions.

Good luck and have a nice day!

Best regards,

Richard | PageFly

Hello @Psps,

I am Gina from flareAI app helping Shopify merchants get $5Million+ in sales from Google Search, on autopilot. I am here to support you.

A sitemap is a file that lists all the pages on your website to help search engines like Google understand the structure of your site and crawl it more efficiently. It is an XML file that contains information such as the URLs of your site's pages, their last modified dates, and the frequency of updates.

Adding a sitemap to your Google Search Console account is a good practice, but it does not directly affect the appearance of your favicon on search results.

There are a few things you can do to ensure that your favicon appears on Google search results.

1. Make sure your favicon is correctly sized and formatted. Google recommends using a 16x16 pixel image in .ico format.

2. Verify that your favicon is correctly linked in the head section of your website's HTML code. The link tag for the favicon should look like this: <link rel="icon" type="image/x-icon" href="path/to/favicon.ico">

3. Give it some time. It can take some time for Google to crawl your site and update its search results, so be patient and wait a few days or weeks to see if your favicon appears.

If you have followed these steps and your favicon still does not appear on Google search results, there may be other issues with your site's SEO that need to be addressed.
