Yes! I Want More Traffic! "Dating, Relationship & Communication"

Ok, so I have had a shopify site for close to 2 years now.

And I get very little traffic. Averaging between 20 views to 60 views maximum.

I do a ton of social media from 300+ youtube video's, 200+ blogs, 2 twitter accounts,

using Canva and posting images on Instagram and twitter, etc... also posting my blogs

and vidoe's on google plus, twitter, facebook biz page, and a few other places. I also do quick video's for

instagram. People seem to respond well but very little traffic.

Kit / Facebook reject my ads visciously... hahaha... I was told be a shopify guru and also a few KIT specialist that facebook rejects dating / relationship ads a lot. And that I will constantly get rejections for that type of industry... another expert said it's because they want physical products to be sold for some reason and coaching and events are not physical products....

I would love to find at least 1 good way to bring traffic to my site...

Thank you

P.s. my current website seems to finally be pulling/making a few sales a week

and getting a customer here and there...

You can do google searches like "dating blogs" or whatever you want to target.

You can create a template to highlight the details (10% commission, 30 day cookie, etc), then personalize the email for each one you reach out to.

If you have a good product that their audience would benefit from, and offer a nice commission for the referral, you can create a nice win-win situation.

Refersion pricing: starts at $20/mo and then $90/mo if you want to use conversion triggers (unique codes instead of links - good for Instagram and offline marketing).

The software is really good and easy to use but if you need help setting up a program just give me a shout.

You tried all types of advertisements and marketing campaign. Have you tried Google advertise campaign?

Yes, I have worked with google off n on... no sales...

They were very helpful in helping me set it up, then a few days later making changes

and again a few days later or a week later altering it, etc. etc.,.

My best sales or most of my sales come from Organic searches where people find my youtube video's or simply find my website or a blog, etc.,.. So far, paid advertisement hasn't worked.

Maybe it's only me but the feeling I'm getting from entering your site is that it's too dark and it doesn't get my trust to engage about love.

Well that's a first. So for more than 50 people told me they love it a lot more than my white back ground theme... But thanks for the input. To be honest, at first I didn't like it at all... but so many girls at shopify were like "No, Keep it! It's very Romantic." And then a few guys said it was AWEsome... so after a while it grew on me... so I know where you are coming from.. now I love it... Thanks!

Sounds like months of studying for me... ugh!!

I talked with a shopify guru and he was stating the same thing.
He said if you want to give a book away, connect with influencers...

It's not as easy as it sounds.. so far no go...

Hi Michael,

Have you ever thought about using micro-influencers through social media to create higher brand awareness and word of mouth?

To find influencers you'll need to search through a social media platform like Instagram and find accounts that have 1,000-10,000 followers that are in your target audience. Someone who would enjoy using a personal coach like you. I'm sure there are many dating accounts out there that would love to collaborate with you. You can offer to post about them or give out free services.

Here is a blog post with more information: https://www.stryde.com/know-leveraging-influencer-marketing-2017/

Hi, Michael!

My name is Jade, I am with the Social Care Team at Shopify.

I was reading your About page and I think you have a very interesting perspective. I confess when I first saw that you're a dating coach I was a bit hesitant, which probably has to do with the bad reputation that dating coaches have on the internet because of "Pick-up Artists" that you see advertised on the internet. I'm sure with your profession you have come across this stigma yourself. The black background actually works quite well for your website. Generally, we tell people not to have a black background, especially when selling products, but it makes your brand look very professional. I took a thorough look at your website and have a few pointers that you may want to consider and try out for yourself to see if they increase your traffic and sales. Your target market is going to be men, and men tend to purchase online differently then women do so I'm keeping that in mind when providing feedback.

1) Coming back to the stigma that dating coaches have online, you may want to experiment with moving the Testimonials section that's towards the bottom of your homepage on to the top underneath your slideshow. The reason why I'm suggesting this is because people that are visiting your website will see the benefits of what you offer before seeing your ebooks and the services you are selling. Perhaps give this a go for a period of time (ex. two weeks) and see if you notice any improvements.

2) You're About page is very good. If I was visiting someone's website to purchase a product or service, I generally wouldn't read a full About page that is that long but your story kept me interested. You also have a small typo underneath 1 Big Mistake where it says "no knowing" I think you may have wanted to say "not knowing".

3) I really like that you have a Testimonials section and it's very important to have this because people want to know that the money they invest in your training will benefit them. It also gives men a chance to see other men like them benefiting from your work. I feel that your videos are more like a vlog then testimonials. If you created a vlog page for your videos that would be a better fit for them. The written testimonials on the bottom of the page with men's faces and written quotes work.  I think you would really shine by having someone with a camera at your next event and asking a few men to provide feedback. A really good example of this done in a way that still maintains the privacy of what happens at the event while giving just enough information to intrigue men to want to learn more and sign up is done by an organization called The Art of Masculinity. You can see their website here. Right when you click on their Retreat page, it has video testimonials right in front of you. All of these videos are less than five minutes on purpose. The way each video starts with the man saying the question as a statement and then giving an answer makes each video flow nicely. These are great examples of how testimonial videos are done for an event and I think you can learn a bit from them while creating your own testimonial videos that have your own unique style.

I hope this information helps with your website and traffic! Best wishes!

Are you Kidding me Jade?

That was AWESOME!!!

That is the very definition of Constructive Criticism.

I fixed all the typos and already put the testimonial pages in 2nd postion below slider!

You definitely lived up to your Name: Jade!

Social Care team. I have never heard of that at Shopify! I definitely want to consult you more on how to improve my site, conversions and More Traffic!

Selling courses to men on dating & relationships is unbelieveably hard and most men are super super shy and wont' give testimonials even after they just told me it was the best course they have ever taken. They simply are embarrased about taking a course like this...

But Women, They love my course on "Why Men Just Don't Get it".

My purpose. I would Love, Love, Love to find a way to get more female/women traffic to my site to show up at my Women's Events for Women in Napa Valley and the San Francisco Bay area / Burlingame Ca.

It kills 2 birds or 3 birds with 1 stone. #1 Women Love this course! #2 Women are much more eager to learn about what I teach and come with an open mind to hear what I have to teach. And I love teaching that side of the course to women. It's fluid, fun and Enjoyable to teach this to women. #3 Women are AWesome when it comes to "Word of Mouth", when it comes to Dating & Relationship Courses on Communication, especially when they learn something New. #4 When I get a referral from a woman, as in having a male come in the door, the male is much, much more open and willing to learn...  So word of mouth will go through the roof and I get to enjoy teaching this coursed much more than ever before.

So how do we talk?

Thanks for the Tips!

Thanks Stryde on the information...

I didn't notice that link first time through...

I've struggled with this concept of finding influencers.

I'll read this article, Thanks again!

Hi, Michael!

I'm really happy to hear that you liked my feedback so much!

Social Care is a relatively new role. We're part of Shopify Support and very much like the Guru Team in that we answer merchants questions but on social media and forums instead of on phones and chats. We don't contact merchants directly and work on their stores with them, but our Support Team is always happy to help answer your questions. Since you're looking to increase traffic and really grow your business, you may want to reach out to a Shopify Expert because they are able to provide you with more specialized support in this department.

That's very interesting to hear that women are such a great resource and word of mouth for your business. I didn't expect that but it really does make sense thinking about it now. I took another read through your post as well as all the replies that came through and an additional thought came to mind. There's a website called BookDoggy.com that promotes free and almost free books. Some of the books are free as part of a promotion that the author is doing while others are free ebooks that you can get online. Since you're charging for your books, the idea using their service is, if your application is accepted, you can make one or more of your books free for a temporary period of time for their subscribers which in turn promotes your other books, website, events and services. They have a large following subscriber following which makes it a good way to get some of your work in front of a large audience. If you reach out to them directly they can answer your questions about how their business works.

Sincerely,

Jade | Social Care
