Hey,

Is it possible to set products "sold out" when the quantity of the inventory is below 20?

Because i wan't to decrease the sales it the product is sold out, because we can't  sync the inventory in the exact same time. i am using the prestige theme

Best regards

Philipp

Hey Philipp! @PhilippOcculto

Thanks for the question and you have reached the German community here but we can chat in EN too, that's no problem! 😉

In Shopify, you can set your products to be hidden when their inventory reaches a certain threshold such as <20 in stock by using a "Smart Collection" as depicted in my screenshot below.

The advantage of this method is that your customers won't be able to purchase the item as it is completely removed from the storefront. However, simply marking a product as "sold out" even though there are still <20 in stock in the backend will enable your customers to add the item to the cart even if it is showing a sold-out label. Do you see the difference?

Another question: Do you also want to add a bit of "sales urgency" i.e. "sense of scarcity" to these products by letting your customers know that "there are not many of this product left so grab it while you can..." / "...when it's gone it's gone..." etc.? This can greatly increase conversions and, if interested, I can definitely send some tips on how to achieve this.

I suppose your initial problem driver can be achieved in other ways if the Prestige theme doesn't have this feature out-of-the-box, such as with a 3rd party apps such as the "DECO: Product Labels & Badges" app that allows you to show labels based on certain conditions such as Collection, tag, discount, inventory, new, price, etc.

It could also be solved with a custom coding solution. This would involve editing your store's theme code to check if the inventory quantity of a product is below your threshold (20 in this case). You can add custom liquid code in your theme (Prestige theme in your case) to show products as "Sold Out" if the inventory is less than 20. It's recommended to get help from a professional Shopify developer if you want to go down this route.

Hope that helps! 😉
