Extension UI to add new shipping option with calculate the price

Hello All,

I have played with the UI Extension examples of Shopify documentation and I was able to create a UI extension that add a simple text to the checkout page at the Extension Target I choose but what I'm looking for, is a little bit more advanced extension where I can add a new shipping option that I will calculate the price of the shipping in according with the delivery address. Do you think is this possible? How do you think this can be achieved?
