For discussing the development and usage of Checkout UI extensions, post-purchase extensions, web pixels, Customer Accounts UI extensions, and POS UI extensions
Hello Shopify folks,
I am on my way to adapt my existing app to be compatible with Checkout Extensibility. Until checkout.liquid customisations will be sundowned 2025, this app should be compatible to both, offering different settings for each of them.
I unsuccessfully tried to find a reliable attribute that tells me, whether Checkout Extensibility is activated or not.
Can you direct me where I can find this?
Hey @Ebbu
Checking on this one with the Checkout team and will report back.

Is there an update on this? It would be beneficial to check whether the merchant is using checkout extensibility.
Our app caters to both the old checkout and checkout extensibility. Some settings apply to either of these implementations that don't necessarily work for both, so knowing which checkout they would be very helpful.
Thank you @SBD_ for your committment and the upate.
Is it realistic the Checkout team may provide something within the next weeks (before non-ShopifyPlus users jump on CE from the beginning of April)?
@SBD_ We would love to have this. Currently we need to show both ways and let merchant decide which one to choose. Would be great if we can suggest the right approach using api.
@SBD_ Any updates on this? Is this API implemented or can you please let us know the way to achieve what @MathewsJoseph mentioned?
Hey @hareshreconvert
Unfortunately there's no API exposing this. Currently the only approach is to let the merchant choose. Have passed along this thread to the checkout folks.

Hi Scott! API would be great, but in the meantime are there any visual references on the checkout UI that would point to a store as having upgraded to CE?
