Replace Discount Code Field with Custom Field

Hey everyone,

for our Shopify Plus Customer, we need to hide the current Discount Code Field and replace it with another Custom Field. Their Customer will use non-shopify discount code and will be validated and replaced with a legit discount code by a datahub between their CRM system. 

Can someone help me out, how i can hide the current Field and which target i should use to place my Custom Field as near as possible to the hidden Discount Field. 

EDIT: found the target -> purchase.checkout.reductions.render-before OR purchase.checkout.reductions.render-after

Any help is appreciated..

After lots of research on that topic, there isn't currently a chance of hiding the discount field. Shopify is aware of this but has not made any statement on when advanced customization of the discount field will happen.
