Why 5 payment customizations are possible?

I working on payment customization extension, if I try to try to implement the rules of payment customization method, i can build up to 5 payment customization methods,

after that if i reach the limit of 5 payment customization method, i got the error message:---Could not activate another payment customization because the enabled limit of 5 has been reached(screen shot is available)

please reply, why we need 5 payment customization method, we can work with one also, or why their is limit of 5 payment customization method?
