How to enable inventory tracking on each product variant?

Hello Community,

I'm running into an issue on my product pages where I have variants listed and the option to include available inventory is greyed out - see screenshot below:

I have enabled inventory tracking on the Locations page for my default location, all my orders will be fulfilled from here but I'm getting a greyed out message below. I did add a placeholder another default location as the message suggest, but I'm still not able to add any inventory details on the product pages?

The inventory tracking does work on product pages without variants, see below:

Wondering if someone can help determine why I can't add inventory to products with variants?

Thanks!

Hina

Hi @TOYOUJewelry You need to follow these steps to solve your issue.

1. Go inside your product, where you want to add the inventory

2. click on the variant that is greyed out

3. Scroll down and click on Track Quantity

4. And now you will be able to add the quantity.

Hopefully it will help you. If yes then Please don't forget hit Like and Mark it as solution!

For sure no problem!

The default location is Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I'm trying to add this too all products that have variants - the screenshot from my original note shows a product page example.

I'm not using any custom inventory settings, I've been adding this manually and all settings are default. The theme I'm working with is Dawn 12.0.0.

For the steps:

- I've gone on the product page and inputted manually the "available" quantity this product has. You'll see in the screenshot below I was only able to input the first variant and the other one is greyed out?

Most of my products have variants and would need inventory counts for each - but that's the issue I'm into as it's all greyed out.

I can also provide access to the backend of my shop if you wanted to take a look?

Sorry I had to step away - Did you want to request access to the backend of my store?

I am yes, how do I grant you access to the product section?

You will not be able to see history of the products past 90 days though! Surprise surprise!
