Hey guys, I am using a Post-Purchase app on my business and have talked with Shopify Support and the App's developer team and there doesn't seem to be a good solution to the problem I am having besides removing the Post-Purchase page all together.
The problem is that I run a company with primarily digital downloads and customers would like to download their products right after they purchase them, but when I use a Post-Purchase Upsell app, the order is automatically placed on a fulfillment hold that can last hours. For example, if the customer closes out of the page before they are shown the upsell, it will put them on hold for an hour. This happens a lot because the Post Purchase page takes 5-10 seconds to load after they confirm the order. It has been causing us a lot of problems.
Upon talking with the developer team and Shopify support, this seems to be a functionality that can not be changed by the App's developers.
Has anyone been able to find a solution for this or does anyone know if Shopify will make this functionality available to turn off or change for digital downloads in the future? I could send the customers an email saying that their order may be on hold for an hour, but I would rather just get rid of it entirely at that point.
Thanks for taking the time to read this
Hi @FEARLESSBEATZ ,
I'm Sasank from Wire. We can help you with both of your concerns.
We deliver your digital products at the Thank You page (example below) and even auto-fulfil orders that have digital products being served by our app - Wire - Check it here - https://apps.shopify.com/wire
If your existing post-purchase upsell will affect auto-fulfillment may vary from store to store and the basis of the upsell app.
Happy to take up any questions you have - Mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org
We already have auto-fulfill on for our digital downloads. That is not the problem.
The problem is that post purchase puts a hold on the order and will not fulfill it until the conditions have been met. There is no way around this right now. This is the stock functionality and the only way this can change is if Shopify developers change the rules and code
Got it. Apologies, I may have misunderstood it slightly. Thanks.
