In a private Java application i need to call Shopify REST APIs to read orders or customers.
The application is running on a local server and is not available to public access.
Do the "Protected customer data" restrictions apply to me?
The specific page states the following:
"When your app uses API version 2022-10 or later, the review process for your public, published app might require action as described in the following table:"
Thanks in advance

Hi @pablomic 👋
I'd recommend checking on your partner dashboard for the app type. At this time, only public apps are subject to the Protected customer data requirements. Alternatively, you can reach out via an authenticated channel with your API key to confirm as well.
Hope that helps!

I see it's an old thread but I'll do my best to help you out. As far as I understand, the ""Protected customer data"" restrictions would still apply to your private Java application, even if it's not available for public access. It's always important to make sure that customer data is properly protected and secured, regardless of the application's accessibility. However, I would recommend double-checking with Shopify's support team to get a more concrete answer. Also, I recommend checking out this article and see whether is erlang dead. While it may not be as popular as some other programming languages, it definitely still has a dedicated user base.
