Re: Test charge created when test = false

Test charge created when test = false

Every time I go to create an app subscription the subscription comes back as test, even if test=false.

Is anyone else experiencing this? We are losing money. This is bad. It seems to be some sort of caching issue maybe? I'm using appSubscriptionCreate and I've tried with and without trial days.

Hi @infinitehighway

Thanks for reaching out. Could you please provide an x-request-id for a recent attempt at an app subscription that resulted in it being set to test? I will take a look.

Thanks for the id! I've taken a look and it appears that your billing subscription attempts have been for development stores which don't have payment methods attached - this creates a test charge. When you attempt a charge on a store with a Shopify plan and a means of payment, it should go through correctly. Hope this helps!

Thank you @csam . So if this merchant adds a payment method and makes their store live, will this charge transition to a proper non-test charge?

Hi @infinitehighway

No, I believe that the charge would need to be either updated or deleted and re-created as an active charge.
