Re: Allow Stocky to talk to Shopify Transfers

Allow Stocky to talk to Shopify Transfers

We use stocky for our inventory management as it is much more powerful than the built in inventory management features of Shopify.

Although, I have a problem currently where if a product is marked "continue selling when out of stock", there is no warning for customers on purchase. This is trending as a very poor experience for our customers bc as far as they can see, there's no indicator for the product being out of stock.

The alternative of deselecting "continue selling when out of stock" is a terrible one as it exposes us to customers already part way through a purchase, to go and search other websites for stock.

I've noticed if purchase orders are done through "transfers" rather than stocky, it adds functionality of giving an ETA on the product page when out of stock and still allows customers to purchase.

This is exactly what we need, however to make it work, we'd need to duplicate purchase orders from stocky and put them into transfers, then delete them later.

It seems as if Shopify was to open it's transfers API to Stocky, it would be quite a simple fix. Stocky already tracks incoming qty for products and expected date for purchase orders. Why can't these produce the same, ETA display on a product page that the built in transfers already does

Is this functionality in the works? Stocky's FAQ mentions this feature being limited by Shopify not having opened the Transfers API yet. This would solve so many headaches

I need this same functionality.  Did you ever receive any info from Shopify?  @Shopify

Unfortunately not. We've implemented an interim solution where when a product is out of stock it will say "pre-order now" instead of "buy now". However this doesn't really work that well
