MobileBuy SDKs Support for New Customer Accounts?

Are there any plans to support new customer accounts in the Storefront APIs and the Moblie Buy SDKs?
From what I read here at the moment they're not supported so if a shop has enabled them we can't use Moblie Buy SDKs, is this correct?
