Storefront API checkout with private apps

Hello,

We're building a mobile app to sell products from a store, and we'd like to have the possibility to finish checkout and process payment using the checkout mutations. The best solution for our case seems to be a private app, since we only want to use the API for our store. Is it possible to have checkout and payment process for a private app? I found this post (question 2) about it, but the form is not valid anymore.
