Global expansion, localizing content, and selling in multiple currencies and languages
Welcome
I have translated my website into Arabic and made it the main language. Now I want to add English. Can I add it without relying on applications?
Hi @maitham1 , that's a great start - arabic isn't yet as well supported as it should be but you've done the right thing. To add translations for English you will need an app, for example Translate & Adapt (free) or others from here, unless you choose to add translations via CSV which is possible but significantly harder. I don't want translation through apps
What is the method of translation via a csv file? Please explain
Hi @maitham1 , to export your languages CSV go to settings > languages > export. To add translations you would fill them in in column H. You would need to account for HTML tags.
You are welcome to make the choices you would like to, but I can tell you from experience - I have translated my whole store with the CSV (before Translate & Adapt existed) and it is difficult. Translation on Shopify is almost always done via apps. One option does exist here for you, which would actually work around the fact that Translate & Adapt doesn't work for Arabic, so may be useful to you: https://community.shopify.com/c/shopify-translate-adapt/shopify-translate-and-adapt/m-p/2231807/high...

Welcome
I've watched the video
But I am not an expert in this field
please help. Can you provide the service for me to do this in order to add English as a second language to the store?
Hi @maitham1 , there is not another way without using an app. Try the Translate & Adapt app. I've just verified my end that it does translate from Arabic (it just doesn't translate into Arabic, but you don't need that). One click and you'll translate your whole store from Arabic to English. I'm not sure of your concerns around apps but they are a key part of how Shopify's ecosystem works, and Translate & Adapt, for example, adds no code to your store. It just gives you an interface to manage translations.
