Global expansion, localizing content, and selling in multiple currencies and languages
Hi everyone,
I want to create complete different versions on my website depending on the user location. I've installed the translate app and everything recommended, but I can't do with it what I want.
My need is concrete: offer different contents on the homepages depending on the location: content blocks, images, products... etc. (not to translate the content, but create different versions).
Is that possible? Thanks a lot!
Hey @Jeanmoreman , you're in luck! This is what the store contextualisation feature does using markets. https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/online-store/themes/customizing-themes/store-contextualization

Hi Rich! Thanks a lot for your help.
Initially I thought that was the logical solution, but the problem is that when I try in this way appears a message: "El idioma principal de la tienda es el Español. Si quieres personalizar el contenido en Inglés, usa una aplicación de traducción." (The main language of the shop is Spanish. If you want to personalize the content in English, use an APP of traduction).
This is the exact origin of my problem. I've tried to uninstall the traduction APP and the message is still there.
If you could help me, will be much appreciated.
Thanks a lot for your help.
That message is just telling you that you don't manage translations via the Online Store Editor, you manage layout there. So you're setting custom layouts, with different sections etc, in different markets. In the store's default language.
Translation takes place via an app, e.g. Translate & Adapt.

Thanks for the response!
Yes, but the problem is that with the APP Translate & Adapt I only can change the text content of the same blocks for all the languages and markets. That's the main problem: I only can change the text and not the images and other content blocks that I want to fix to different markets and languages.
No problem. You use the store contextualisation feature in the online store editor to customise the storefront layout for different markets, and use a translation app like Translate & Adapt to translate. You use the two together. Does that make sense? If not happy to jump on a call to talk through

Hey @Jeanmoreman, I'm not sure if you're still trying to find a solution for this but the app Context lets you swap section content based on geolocation.
Hi Mark!
Massive thanks! Extremely helpful content, I'll use it in my new website version without a doubt.
Kind regards!
