I don’t have any HS codes set up so Currently I’m not collecting duty fees… does Shopify notify the buyer that the purchase may include extra fees? If not, how do I make sure they know? (Other than putting it in my shipping policy, I actually want them to know.)
No Shopify doesn't notify customers of Duty fees. It's your duty to figure out how to make such information available. You can include the shipping policy, announcement bar, or include this in the order confirmation email. These are just some of the ideas.
Shopify doesnt notice the extra duty fee on the international orders as different products has different tax rates on different country customs. But if you are just dropship via Shopify, you do not have to worry too much, you can ask the supplier or dropshipping agent about the products tax rates you sell, they can give you a solution.
Hey there! Did you find a solution to this problem? If you use a 3rd party email service, you can create an automatic email that sends when customers place an order from a specific location. Let me know if you need any assistance with this!
