Global expansion, localizing content, and selling in multiple currencies and languages
Hello, I've been working with translations and I think I've spotted a bug. After choosing second+ page in section that has pagination and going to a different section page number never resets, so you see same page or nothing, depending if section has that many pages or not. It can be slightly misleading, as you can assume some sections have no content inside, when they have. Steps to reproduce:
1. Find section that has more than 1 page. I chose Checkout and System.
2. Open different page (let's say page2).
3. Choose different section. I chose Layout. If that section don't have that many pages (2 in this example), there will be no content displayed and if it has you will instantly see page x content instead of page1.
Thanks for sharing @JustasG - we'll look into this!

It's working as it should now, thanks! Can I also ask about one more translation app missing feature/bug and one more Shopify bug here?
Sure - our team is languages and markets + Translate & Adapt but I can pass on other feedback

Thank you very much again! Here's the bugs:
1.Translate & Adapt app
In the blog post you can add featured image. This is a great way to visualise your ideas, but sometimes there's text in that image. Currently, there's no option to add different image for a different language.
(please ignore that text is the same, website is currently in development)
In theme translation, however there's option to customise some images.
Text in blog images can be great for a blog carousel like this:
That's why I think this feature should be in Translate app, since blogs are part of Shopify and not a theme customisation.
2. Shopify files search/view bug
When you have files uploaded to Shopify and want to find one or more (e.g. to create a view), sometimes search does not find files you are looking for.
I am not 100% sure what is causing this, but I think I found a way at least to partly reproduce it.
I have uploaded some test files:
When you're searching "image" results are like this:
Notice that Testimage04.png, test-08-image.png, test07image.png and 05testimage.png does not show up, even they contain "image" in file name. This happens on every file type, but I've noticed that this happens only when searching letters (numbers works fine). What's causing this is unknow as I cannot see pattern, but it seems that file name has to have a number for this bug to occur.
Thanks for these @JustasG .
Featured blog images are not yet translatable, true. Some potential workarounds:
- If you have the image in the description, you could translate it there by linking to a different file in the HTML
- You could create a new template or edit your existing blog article template to have images in it in the Online Store Editor, then translate those in Templates within Translate & Adapt
- You could add image metafields to the blog
I recognise that these won't help with the featured image in an index of blog posts, but could help with the use case you shared here.
File picker bug - is that in Translate & Adapt or Files? Looking at it the ones that don't match are where there is a letter or number immediately before the 'i' of image. E.g.
test07image
05testimage
Testimage04

Thanks, I'll take a look to workarounds, I think it might be possible with metafields, also creating and editing template might work too. I hope that eventually functionality to translate blog featured images will be added in the future updates, now I'll try your suggestions, thanks for them again.
For file search bug, this is not in Translate & Adapt app, but in the Shopify itself. I've attached image to clarify about witch ones I'm talking. It's in the content > files section. I understood that you're working with translations app, but I would be grateful if you could pass this feedback, as promised.
