Global expansion, localizing content, and selling in multiple currencies and languages
Hi everyone,
I’ve been using Shopify Shipping for the past five years without any issues, but recently I’ve had two orders shipped to Canada returned because the duty fees were too high for the customers. This has never been a problem before, and I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar.
Have there been any recent changes to duty fees, taxes, or shipping policies when sending items to Canada from the U.S.? Are there any tips or adjustments I can make to avoid this issue in the future?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Hi Mike,
One solution could be to use DDP (Delivery Duties Paid) labels, which include all duties and taxes upfront. That way, your customers won’t have any unexpected charges when their order arrives.
You can also look into Shopify apps that handle DDP labels. Just make sure you adjust your prices accordingly so everything is covered on the front end. Hope this helps out!
