Global expansion, localizing content, and selling in multiple currencies and languages
Hi
I have a reseller in Canada, they do not want their customers to see our online shop in Canada.
Is there anyway I can either hide some products from view for only some countries. Or make it "ask for a price" but in Canada only?
Hello @roy18 ,
Yes with custom code yes it possible but before that we need a api call which will gives us exact location of the customer. Once accurate location detected after that we can make it conditional and hide specific product for specific region or hide its price and implement custom module.
Thanks
Hey there. I see you're looking for a way to restrict view-ability for specific products based on location, and I can definitely see how this can be useful or this instance. To your benefit, here's a fantastic app called Locksmith that allows you to restrict what different customers see based on their physical location, along with a multitude of other features. You can take a look at that app here: bit.ly/3rRabLR I also found a neat app in our App Store that strictly allows you to block a country's viewability for a specific product, which you can check out here: bit.ly/3ItGnef We also have a help document that guides you on all Shopify's native options country selector options, which come with app recommendations, alternatives, and more options we offer you to maximize your international impact here: bit.ly/3ozIUM1 When it comes to setting a product asking price based on a customer's location, we actually have a Shopify-native way that will allow you to achieve this, however you will need to be on the Shopify Advanced or Plus plans to have this functionality. Here's the Shopify help document for this, if interested: bit.ly/3dwAv5D However, we also have app options for setting prices based on location you can check out, and I found this app that allows you to set a different price for different countries in multiple currencies: bit.ly/3pD4ezr Lastly, if by chance you want to edit your theme code so that customers can choose their country or region, then you can use Shopify Liquid to create country selectors (bit.ly/3y8OPup) in your storefront. This is an advanced tutorial, so it's recommended to only edit your theme code only if you have coding experience. You can also reach out to hire a Shopify Expert (experts.shopify.com) if you wish, as our Shopify Experts team are comprised of many experienced professionals on coding matters, theme customizations, and a large variety of other site-wide customizations! Hopefully this clears things up for you, and if you have any other questions, let me know 🙂 - Josip
