Is there a way to show the price that includes duties on the cart page?
Lets say I have a product that costs €499. A customer will see it as €598,8 (499 + 20% VAT) on the cart page.
But on the checkout page they will see €670,66 rather than €598.8 because Shopify adds duties €59,88:
(499 + 59,88 duties) + 20% VAT = €670,66
Is it possible to show the duties on the cart page so that a customer doesn't get a surprising price update on the checkout?
Hi @Evgeniy-M,
Thank you for reaching out to the Community! I'd be happy to provide some assistance with displaying duties and taxes to your customers.
To share some insight, duties and import taxes are expected to be displayed on the checkout page. This is to provide customers with a breakdown of those associated fees prior to completing their purchase. To learn more, you can check out our Collecting International Duty and Import Taxes documentaion.
As this feature doesn't allow for customization, I'd encourage you to check out the Shopify App Store as an alternative. We have various apps available that allow you to calculate those fees and may achieve what you're looking for. For ease, I've gone ahead and made a few suggestions listed below that you can look into:
As you are looking for an app with specific features, I'd recommend getting in touch with the app developers directly. They will be able to provide clarification on an app's capabilities and customizations to confirm whether or not the app will fit your shop's needs. To get in contact with an app developer, you can head to the Shopify App Store and select Support > Send A Message.
I have also gone ahead and passed this feedback along to our Developers. We're always looking for ways to improve the platform and appreciate your suggestion.
Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Hi @Blair , thanks for your response!
This is what I understand from your answer, correct me if I'm wrong:
1. It is not possible in Shopify to show duties, that calculated by Shopify, before the checkout stage.
2. The apps you provided are not just apps, they are physical service companies/carriers, that helps to sell internationally by paying duties and taxes.
Hi @Evgeniy-M,
Thanks for the prompt response!
I'm happy to provide some clarification. You are correct. As it currently stands, duties and import taxes are expected to be displayed on the checkout page.
To workaround this, you can look into using one of the third-party apps I mentioned. I wouldn't however, be able to confirm whether or not they will allow for duties and import taxes to be displayed on the cart page as desired. For more information on an app's capabilities, you can connect with the app developers directly.
Alternatively, you can look into hiring a Shopify Expert. These are trusted third-party agencies and freelancers that work to build your shop. To learn more about experts, you can check out our Expert Marketplace.
Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.
