Global expansion, localizing content, and selling in multiple currencies and languages
Hello,
I've successfully used Shopify's 'Translate & Adapt' feature to automatically translate our website, including the product descriptions and page URLs.
However, I've encountered a problem: all the internal links within the site haven't been updated to reflect the new language. They continue to redirect to pages in the main language. Is there a specific setting in the Shopify translation tool that I need to enable to address this? It seems feasible to automatically update these URLs to match the translated content, and I'm wondering how to make that happen.
Hi @JohanNi , could you share a screenshot / vid of where you're seeing it links direct to the untranslated URL? Are they hardcoded links? Thanks

In the HTLM texts and descriptions on the website.
I guess that could be considered hard coded.
Thanks
Yep that would count as hard coded, but the user would still get redirected to the translated URL. Let me know if that's not happening

Okay, so that's not happening in our case.
As you can see in the image, the link is /cs/ which is the language it translates from into English.
Ah ok, the solution is to not put the whole website in the link, just the relative link, e.g. /cart not example.com/cs/cart

I'm having the same issue. I can not find where to change the link from example.com/cart to /cart. I am able to change all other links, but can not find this one. I am using debut.
Thanks in advance!
Hi again,
Just to clarify, I am able to update (or auto-translate) all links except for the ones in the navigation bar/header on our site. I translated our store into French but when a user clicks on the cart icon, it goes to the English version.
Hey @catenafarm , you had a pretty old version of Debut theme which was not using the routes object. We've amended this for you and it should now work. You may want to consider updating your theme to a newer one, as Debut is no longer fully supported and misses out on new features.
