Global expansion, localizing content, and selling in multiple currencies and languages
Hi,
How to deal with such a situation.
How we can fix it - so that Google indexes the right domain in the right market:
- in the Polish google results - domain .pl
- in English/Others - domain .eu
I see that Google doesnt recognize it (see attachement). Can we somehow from the Shopify dashboard merge these domains so that Google indicates that it is 1 owner?
Hi,
To ensure Google indexes the right domain for each market, you can use the hreflang tag to specify language and regional targeting for your domains. Add hreflang tags to your Shopify store's theme.liquid file to indicate the .pl domain for Polish content and the .eu domain for English/other content. Additionally, set up Google Search Console for each domain to help Google understand they belong to the same owner. Unfortunately, merging domains directly from the Shopify dashboard is not possible, but these steps should help improve indexing accuracy.
