Global expansion, localizing content, and selling in multiple currencies and languages
How can I translate the "powered by" section in the footer of my DAWN theme using Translate and Adapt?
Where is the field located? Please see the screenshot of what I am referring to: https://postimg.cc/sMYMnDZZ

Hi, @AntCrescendo. I'm happy to help you out with this! What language are you translating your shop to? Are you making any other changes to localize your online store at the moment?
If you're using the automatic translation feature in the Translate & Adapt app, the phrase "Powered by Shopify" in your footer should be translated automatically. You can follow these steps to translate your content automatically.
You can also translate your content manually by following these steps. For what you're trying to do you'll want to go into the app and select the language you want to translate. From there, select the resource that you want to translate and enter your translated content into the appropriate field. Make sure to save the change once that's done. You can find the "Powered by Shopify" setting by going to Theme assets > Checkout and system > Links: Powered By Shopify. You'll also want to go to Theme assets > General > Password Page: Powered By Shopify Html to make sure the phrase is translated correctly on your password page as well.
Your published theme will be the one translated. You can double check which theme that is by going to Online store > Themes and viewing which theme is listed as your Current theme. If Dawn isn't your current theme you can publish it as your current theme by following these steps. The Translate & Adapt app will also tell you which theme it's translating. You can see an example of this below.

Hey @Erin Would it be possible to integrate a language switcher into Translate and Adapt?
Hi, @AntCrescendo. Thanks for reaching back out!
Most themes will have a language selector built in that you can enable and use alongside the Translate & Adapt app. All free themes created by Shopify will have this, including Dawn. The steps to enable a language selector can be found here. You can enable it within your theme editor by going to Online Store > Themes > Customize. From here, search your theme settings for Enable language selector to enable it. This setting might be in the theme settings, footer section, or header section, depending on your theme and the theme developer. Using Dawn, you'll find it by going to the Footer section. I've included a screenshot below to help explain how to get to there.
If you're using a theme that doesn't have a built in language selector, you can always add one using the Geolocation app.
Please let me know if you have any questions! This guide on using the Translate & Adapt app can help further as well.
