Hi,
This may be a very bad question, but how does my Shopify store "know" which language I am importing?
I am manually translating my shop into 3 languages and, as I receive the content from the translators, I am uploading the CSV file with the same name as it was exported. Is this correct? Or should I somehow indicate which file belongs to each language?
Thanks in advance!

Hey Vth,
Rich from Shopify here. Shopify knows which language by the 'Locale' column, which resource by the 'Identification' column and which field of that resource by the 'Field' column.
To your question:
I am uploading the CSV file with the same name as it was exported. Is this correct?
The task is to export the CSV and then put the translations in the 'Translated content' column. The locale column tells you which language goes where. For the CSV, you can remove rows but not columns. You can import multiple languages at once.
Hope that helps! Here for other questions.

Hi Rich,
I can't import csv with translations. The result is always "X" (all) items skipped. The same outcome even when importing an exported file (exported directly from shopify).
thank you in advance.
Could you share the CSV with me or a screenshot of it? That tends to happen when something like locale isn't matching what the system expects

Hello @richbrown_staff , I'd like to revive this subject with slightly different request. I have a Shopify shop with 2 languages. I enter product title and description in language A and use Shopify localization to show them also in language B. I connected Shopify to Meta. I am using Facebook Advantage+ model which uses dynamic products on ads. But ads appear only with language A. How can I make them also show language B if the user device is in language B.
I'm having a similar issue. I simplified my import file to only two rows but it's still skipping without any specific error.
How can I know the reason why they are being skip?
Hello Rich, how to import NEW products with different languages. My file has all kind of languages in the lines (not colums). I added a column locale and used identifiers such as de-DE, fr-FR but the titles doesn't show up in the correct languages. It all goes to the shop default language. (english)
My shop has all languages i want to use activated.
