Global expansion, localizing content, and selling in multiple currencies and languages
We're running into a Shopify issue and need an assist or work around. Previously, a customer could select their shopping currency and go through checkout with no issues.
Shopify added a feature, Shopify Markets Local Currency, which appears to work great . We heard from our customers, however, and verified it ourselves that Shopify negates the customer's chosen Shopify Markets Local Currency and changes their currency in checkout, disrupting the conversion just when the customer was about to complete their purchase.
For example, the customer is happily shopping in their chosen Shopify Markets Local Currency, but when they get to checkout and enters their shipping address country, 💥BAM💥 Shopify overrides the customer's chosen Shopify Markets Local Currency choice interrupting the purchase.
Does anyone know if there is any way to turn off or a work-around the feature to preserve the Shopify Markets Local Currency: that is turn off Shopify's trigger on the checkout shipping address from surreptitiously overriding the customer's chosen Shopify Markets Local Currency?
Also, we noticed (per the screenshot below) that in Shopify's Checkout Admin, the errant trigger that overwrites the customer's chosen Shopify Markets Local Currency doesn't happen and it correctly preserves the customer's chosen Shopify Markets Local Currency - unlike the live store/production checkout.
