Global expansion, localizing content, and selling in multiple currencies and languages
I am based in North Carolina and would like to start shipping to Europe in the future. I have the $29 plan and am wondering do I need to download an app?
Hi @edarby00
Are you selling in different currencies or from multiple locations? You might face an issue if you have variable shipping rates depending on weight per country as the standard 29$ does not offer the Automatically Calculated shipping rates at checkout.
Let me know!
Yes, I would like to sell in the United Kingdom/Europe. I downloaded the PirateShip app for my shipping and was able to see an estimated shipping rate, will that make a difference or should I download another app just for international shipping?
Hi,
Can you please tell me which shipping carrier you are using, currently?
Shopify offers merchants in the United States and Canada access to discounted rates with USPS, UPS, DHL Express, and Canada Post, so you’re already set up to compare their rates.
- You can get the discounted rates on shipping options.
- You can choose a suitable delivery option based on the customer convenience.
- The unique tracking code is being provided by all the carriers through the mail to track the order status.
If you are having your own carrier account with any of the shipping carriers,
you can directly connect your carrier account with the Shopify store by the Multi-carrier shipping label app, Where you can also avail the discount shipping rates from the carriers.
Does Multi Carrier Shipping Label app offer discounted carrier rates? Are they based on dimensional / volumetric weight?
Hi @suellen,
You need to have your own carrier account to use it with the Multi Carrier Shipping Label app. So, whatever discounted rates your carrier account provides, the app allows you to use it and handle the shipping process. You can get discounted shipping rates directly from the carrier based on your order volume.
And yes, the app uses dimensional/volumetric weight based on the packing method you choose. With the Box packing method in the app, the rates are calculated based on the dimensional weight of your products. You can add weight & dimensions for your products and add custom boxes based on your product. Using the Box packing algorithm, the app chooses the right box based on what your customers orders and calculate the shipping cost accordingly. There is a 14-day free trial available and you can contact the support for any assistance required.
Thank you for letting me know. We're using another app which does the same thing.
