Global expansion, localizing content, and selling in multiple currencies and languages
Greetings all,
I'm starting out with a Shopify Basic Plan account to sell Fine Art Prints. I'm using Drop-shipping provided by a UK/ Germany based Printer called CreativeHub.io. They said that they will soon be setting up another center in the US.
I'd like to restrict Shopify sales to just the EU, UK and USA, since dealing with Customs + Import Taxes isn't allowed on the Basic Plan.
My question is, can I do so? i.e. restrict sales to just EU, UK and USA?
Thanks in advance for your reply.

Hi @dromalpalli,

In terms of restricting sales to certain parts of the world, you can do this by creating shipping zones and shipping rates for the countries and regions you do wish to sell to. A customer will not be able to complete their checkout if they do not have a shipping rate they can select, so if you do not create any shipping rates for countries you do not wish to sell to, customers from there will not be able to make a purchase.
You can use shipping zones to create one each for the USA, UK, and European Union, and then set individual shipping rates for each region. When you create a shipping zone you'll see an option to add countries and regions to the zone, such as in this example:
As you're selling to multiple countries, I would also recommend checking out Shopify Markets. You can use Markets to set up multiple region-specific domains on your store (e.g. website.com, website.co.uk and website.eu), offer different languages and currencies, while also managing international shipping.
I hope this helps but please let me know if there's anything else I can help with.
