Global expansion, localizing content, and selling in multiple currencies and languages
Hi!
I have been starting to plan on expanding our store. We currently sell pretty much only in Finland (99,99% of orders shipped to Finland). For the past year or two Ive had one or two orders shipped to Sweden. My question is: is it worth it to integrate the Shop app and Shop pay? We sell optical supplies (contact lenses, solutions etc etc) so you can get them from any country and shipping from Finland is expensive.. For example a regular order we get is 46€ for the items and 6,9€ for shipping inside Finland. If I were to send the same order for example to Poland shipping cost would be 22,9€, Sweden shipping cost would be 19,9€, Netherlands 22,9€ etc. Would I just be wasting my time and energy setting it up? If anyone from EU is using the Shop app, any answers would be appreciated!
Thank you!
@Villle I recommend considering the integration of the Shop app and Shop Pay, especially if you're planning to expand beyond Finland. These tools can enhance the customer experience by offering seamless checkout and tracking, which could make your store more appealing to international customers. However, given the high shipping costs, you might also want to explore options like finding a fulfillment partner in other EU countries or offering free shipping thresholds to offset the costs. This way, you can maximize the potential benefits of expanding without losing margins to high shipping fees.
