Size translations no longer update reliably when changing currency

As per title. I have a store (wildsmith.com) set up with metaobject translations in the Translate and Adapt app. When the user selects their country in the currency dropdown (these are limited to FR, GB and US, but display as EU, GB and US), whether on mobile or desktop, then the shoe sizes update to show the size translations for the appropriate market. It worked fine and was reliable.

Yesterday we noted that the size translations for sizes no longer update reliably. If you select EUR ('FR' is the country), you sometimes see GB sizes. It's intermittent and doesn't always happen, navigating from one product to another seems to make it work OK, but changing currency to EU while on a product page does not update the size translations.

Sometimes it's a different market that it refuses to translate properly. Sometimes it works fine. It's squirrelly and annoying and unfixable, right now, because I cannot reliably replicate the issue.

This was absolutely fine until recently, has anything changed on the Shopify side?

Many thanks,

G

Edit: tried in incognito mode as suggested below, issue still occurred, this time it translated to EU but not US.

Edit: can't find anything relevant in the changelog (https://changelog.shopify.com/)

This is an accepted solution.

Reported this to Shopify via support, who managed to resolve it by clearing the store frontend cache (thanks to Erra). They are also raising a bug report with the Translate and Adapt team. Excellent result.

Hi @dartacus

sounds like a caching issue or a recent update affecting how Shopify's Translate & Adapt app handles metaobject translations dynamically

I think you should check something:

  • Test in Incognito Mode – If the issue doesn’t occur, browser caching could be causing it. Try clearing your cache or disabling caching via a Shopify script.
  • Shopify does roll out updates that may impact liquid rendering or JavaScript behavior. You can check their changelog or Shopify Community forums for any reports of translation issues.

Update for a day later: size translations are now not working AT ALL and I have not changed my code since yesterday, when they were partially working. Now just stuck on UK sizes, no translations happening at all.

I really can't see how this is anything except a bug with Shopify''s Translate and Adapt app.

Does anyone know how I raise a bug report with Shopify?

Many thanks,

Gareth
