Translate and Adapt migration to New Theme

We are in the process of updating our site from a 1.0 theme to a 2.0 theme. We have 10k products and 5 languages, we are using Translate and Adapt. Will we able to carry over our translations? 

Presumably the T&A IDs are going to change once we make the switch? Does anyone have any insight into how we should manage this?

Hi @eheurlin , non-theme translatable resources, e.g. your products, pages, collections etc (full list - except ONLINE_STORE_THEME) are not local to your theme. That means if you change theme your product translations, for example, are carried over.

 

Theme translations are local to that theme, and the IDs won't match between themes and themes can be very different, which is why translations can't automatically be carried over. But here is a relatively straightforward workaround using the CSV which works by matching content in the default language: https://community.shopify.com/c/shopify-translate-adapt/translation-missing-after-theme-update/m-p/2...
