US based store wanting to add an EU location

Hello, I am a US based business currently selling merchandise on Shopify operating from Colorado and shipping within the US and internationally. I have a large European market and shipped about 250 merch items to Paris to sell while visiting there in person and was unable to get them out of customs until after leaving. They are now in the care of a friend who is going to help me sell them from France to the rest of eu online through Shopify. What is the easiest way to go about doing this? Should they set up their own Shopify account or should I add another location to my website and list through there? I am trying to figure out how much I will have to pay in shipping, VAT, etc in order to price the items.

HI Tschwaninger

It is not that easy, unfortunately. EU is still 27 countries. If it is a one time thing,  and you friend managed to clear your items through customs , then the easiest way for him to sell using 10 000 EUR simplification available for EU based micro companies /entrepreneurs. If he does not have a turnover selling over that limit to other EU countries , he can actually sell the stuff applying his French VAT rules. If that is not the case then it is best to ask someone who is registered for Union OSS scheme and sell it through them.  That seller should be registered for French VAT and OSS scheme .

Another option is place the stuff with Amazon issuing FBA in France and sell it through them.
