Conversations about creating, managing, and using metafields to store and retrieve custom data for apps and themes.
Hi All,
I am in the process of building out my online Party Website, My Party HQ.
The parent category pages contain a lot of products, therefore I need my filter options to be clear to avoid overwhelming my customer.
I believe the best way to achieve this is by using meta fields and/or meta objects.
As a starting point, I am choosing my Hen Party category: https://www.mypartyhq.com/collections/hen-party.
I would like to include the Hen Party "Themes" as a filter option. I have already split these themes into collection pages of their own, see below:
Same Man Forever Hen Party Supplies - https://www.mypartyhq.com/collections/same-man-forever-hen-party-supplies
Team Bride Hen Party Theme - https://www.mypartyhq.com/collections/team-bride-hen-party-supplies
Boho Hen Party Supplies - https://www.mypartyhq.com/collections/boho-hen-party-supplies
Botanical Hen Party Supplies - https://www.mypartyhq.com/collections/botanical-hen-party-supplies
Floral Hen Party Theme - https://www.mypartyhq.com/collections/floral-hen-party-supplies
Future Mrs Hen Party Theme - https://www.mypartyhq.com/collections/future-mrs-hen-party-supplies
She Said Yaas Hen Party Supplies - https://www.mypartyhq.com/collections/she-said-yaas-hen-party-supplies
I have attempted to add this as a meta field within my "Hen Party" Collection page, see below, however, I have no idea whether this is the right way to do it or how I would now get this to appear in my hen party collections page.
Hoping someone might be able to help.
Best wishes,
Lauren
@Aysiya Hope you are doing well.
did not get your requirements. could you please explain in detail?
Hello @webwondersco
Thank you for your reply.
I think I have built metafields in my hen party collections page, within the back end of the website, here:
I am wondering how I get the Metafields to appear in the front end of my "hen party" collections page - https://www.mypartyhq.com/collections/hen-party
Is this clearer? Apologies if not, I will try again if this is not enough.
Many thanks,
Lauren
Thanks,
Lauren
@Aysiya Got it.
If your theme supports metafields, then you can choose how to display metafields on your online store by using the theme editor.
You can connect metafields to your theme by adding sections or blocks that support dynamic sources. For example, the Product info section can support product metafields, and a Collection section can support collection metafields.
After you add a section or block, you can search for and select a single metafield by clicking the connect dynamic source icon:
