Metafields in multipass request

Is it possible to send metafields along with customer information payload in multipass flow (request)? I would like to send back some system level identifier to be stored as part of the customer info to be used later within shopify theme code.

I do not see it mentioned here, as there is more support for metafields now, wondering if this is possible?

Thanks for your question - at this time it's not possible to write to metafields from the storefront API https://shopify.dev/api/examples/metafields#limitations
