A space to discuss online store customization, theme development, and Liquid templating.
Watching the launch videos for 2.0 it seemed like it would be possible to have "per page" sections enabling custom content at a page or product level.
The use case I'm after is to replace the blog interface with a custom page builder made up of text and image blocks, but having tried this using the new JSON templates etc it seems the section applies to "all" pages the template references meaning you can't run different content for each blog post.
Am I missing something or did I misunderstand the capabilities of the new section functionality?
You still need to create a unique JSON template for each page and assign it to it. After that you can start adding sections to it in the theme editor. For any other pages you also need to create new JSON templates for them.
So content can't be authored using sections per article page? (imagine a series of blog posts)
You'll just need to create a unique JSON template in the theme for each of the articles.
Hy there, In the Shopify 2.0 templates and themes you can add different sections on different pages, but it depends upon the features of theme that you are using but if you are using a page builder then you can add different sections on different pages by creating different page templates first.
