Hello,
I have created  a new template based on "page". But when I go to assign it, I don't see my created template in the drop-down menu. Here is screenshot:Screenshot from 2021-12-19 23-30-32.png
Please let me know what I am doing wrong.
thanks

This is an accepted solution.

Make sure the alternate template was created in the /templates folder and not as a snippet or section somehow.

Alternative templates from unpublished themes will not show.

To preview and develop alternate templates, in unpublished themes, on the frontend use the ?view parameter in tandem with the normal ?preview_theme_id used to preview unpublished themes.

I.e. for page.customname.liquid would mean shopify.com/pages/page-handle?preview_theme_id=1234567&view=customname

Thanks,
Basically, I am using a git subtree and the dev branch I am currently working on is not the published one.

That's why it wasn't showing.
