cart notes and attributes not updating

when a user enters into chekout by filling the cart notes and attributes in the cart page and returns to the cart page again from the checkout page to update the cart notes,the updated cart note is not being shown in the order page,it is considering the initial passed value.please reply if anyone got solution for this issue
