Coding Tools, snippets, and scripts

Are there any good Free sites that offer for example html code snippets, JavaScripts, and other tools that I could add into our Shopify store myself?  For instance to get the same feature or functionality that using a paid theme or app subscription would provide? 

Bonus points for someone who can point me to any website or documentation that describes how to add code in Shopify and the best places to put it as well as including all the files which need to be edited.

There's a few resources like the Shopify Partner Blog and our YouTube channel where you can find tutorials for enhancing your online store. There is also some GitHub repos, like this Theme Development Helpers repo where developers have shared theme components to help with development. 

I'm sure other people on this forum have more suggestions too!
