CONTACT TEMPLATE APPEARING ON EVERY PAGE I TRY TO CREATE DAWN 2.

hello,

I've added a contact form to maintenance page.

It then added itself to all pages and future pages.

I've subsequently deleted pages.

Now I've deleted all my pages to see if I could get rid of it.

Contact form still appears even with no previous pages.

Trying to create a few nice pages and now I have contact form on every page I try to create.

I have followed the vague and overly simple instructions in the drop down lists and the option is default page and contact.

Once default page is selected, nothing improves anyway.

What am i missing?

Do i work in online store, pages, or themes. If themes please be specific. There are several areas to access this from.

Might it be possible I deleted some code when I deleted contact forms, and now there's no option to correct it without html?

Hi, did you resolve this? I'm having the same trouble. Can't edit one page without it duplicating on the others.

>From memory (3 yes ago maybe), it did finally go. I believe I had to delete
the initial contact page. I’m imagining you can always add it back. I
wish I could remember sorry as it is very annoying I agree. Wouldn’t it be
great if there was a quick answer line!

So I would go into main area and delete details in contact page. Then you
have no current contact page info for it to automatically to transfer. Try
this first. Then play around in the individual pages.
Who knows really. I just remember one day it was gone.
I know it started when I added additional contact box.
Check you got rid of them all in your left hand website menu of page layout
I probably had two there to start. Get rid of all.

Then maybe go to individual pages then editing of the menu (mine was a
drop down…and delete any contacts link in them.

I think what my solution was: ended up being that I changed my menu to a
hover menu. Or maybe that happened at similar time.

So get it out of layout, especially if it’s in header and you’ve added it
to footer…and also to a page in the site….then get it out of individual
pages. If doesn’t work get it out of
The menu items lists and links.

Seriously good luck!

Ok , well be careful not to create a page (with primarily a contact box)
and then to call it ‘contact’. The system has its own ‘contact’ button
code that it calls that.

You wouldn’t want to be adding linking that to other things in headers
footers.

..don’t confuse the system which has its own ‘contact’ as a built in
option.

Call the created page, ‘new message page’ or something instead so you know
what you’re doing and can identify that as a source of problem if need be.

I’m not sure when it comes to pages and maybe blog pages and adding a
contact box to them. I think it may be something to check if it happens
again if it’s that. Again keep it simple for a while. Decide if to use
system contactquickly added or your ‘new message page’ added on. So you
can see if this is the culprit.


I also think I changed to a new version of dawn or something free and back
again and maybe that helped. But be wary changing as some lose some of your
data.
