Earning commission on a store after transferring ownership

Hi!
I'm about to finish working on a development store for a client and will move to the basic plan soon. My client want's me to continue managing the store for him.

As far as I understand, I won't earn commission as long as I retain ownership, but, will I begin earning commission if I transfer the ownership to him in the future?

Yes, you will begin earning commission once you transfer the ownership to your client, provided the store was initially created as a development store under your Shopify Partner account. After transferring ownership, you can continue managing the store by being invited as a staff member or collaborator. Once the store owner starts paying for the Shopify plan, you will be eligible for the revenue share through Shopify's Partner program.
