Improve site speed of 47 - 57

Hello,

I have a site speed of 47, but when I first got the Dawn theme it was 57, I installed a couple of apps 3. I reached out to the developers and they said there is no codes left behind. My Speed has now dropped to 47, two days ago it went up to 50 and dropped again without me having to do anything. I have a total of 13 apps- necessary apps. 

Is there a tool where I can see what's going on and how to fix.

Sounds like you're referring to a score, rather than actual speed. The score on common analysis tools is calculated on estimates and can fluctuate over time.

If you're referencing the Shopify speed score, that's a good score if you're using apps. We generally see successful stores score between 20 - 40 (depending on apps used of course).

Hello again,

Thank you for the help, I did do the Shopify Analyzer, I did get my score of 50/100.  All is "A" until I scroll down and see Image Optimization - 16 images need to be compressed, which I did 12 Manually with TINYPNG last night, the other 4 were small logos. Today, I ran the speed analyzer again it's still saying there is an image optimazation problem and it's the same 16 images that I complressed last night.  I then scroll down to the 1 Oversized image, there is only one and it's the main page image of the homepage. I'm not sure why ti's considered oversized since Dawn theme main page can be 1600 x 600, I looked up how much Dawn main page should be and it's  around the same. 

Last thing is the Lazyloading.. do you have a video on how to do this. I see I have to down load a file, not sure what they mean..

You got it, happy to help.

1600px is a huge image for a mobile device that's only 400px wide, that's probably why the oversized image warning is triggering, that's a lot of unnecessary file weight.

For the compression, the Shopify Analyzer reads the live site, make sure you have uploaded the compressed images there and that theme is live. If they're being reported by the Shopify Analyzer it means the live images are not compressed (we use TinyPNG as well, great app!).
