Parallax in Monaco theme

I am using Monaco theme for my online website. I want to make a parallax section in the main page that is not part of the sections that is offered by the theme. When I tried to do it, it messed up the site and made problems. Is it possible to add a simple section of a photo+text with one hyperlink as parallax on the Monaco theme?

Yes, it's possible. The code just needs to be completely separate from Monaco in order to (1) not break your site (2) work well with your theme.
