Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
I have two questions concerning local pick up orders.
1. Is there a way to eliminate the auto generated "Pick up" times that appear on the customer orders? A lot of our products have lead times and are definitely not ready by the times it keeps giving people. I've also not found a way to even set the hours, so it's been giving customers pick up times that are when we are closed. I've included a photo example:
2. Is there also a way to eliminate or adjust the "ready by" times that a customer sees when they go to check out? We've set it to the highest possible which is "Usually ready in 5+ days" but a lot of people think that means their order will be ready in 5 days when we are normally weeks out.
Thanks
Hi, I see no reply but was wondering if you figured out anything. We are new to Shopify with a Furniture Store still having long wait times. I have the pick-up option turned off now for the same reason you say, 5+ days sounds like will be available very soon. I'd rather it didn't say anything on product pages. Appreciate any help you have found. Todd

Hello Todd,
Unfortunately, I haven't heard or found out anything on how to fix this. We've had it set the same since I posted this, but I did make sure to edit the text on the automatic emails that get sent to the customers when they place an order to basically "please ignore what it says about pick up and ready times". So far I haven't had any issues but like you, just wish we could somehow eliminate that part. Because I KNOW one of these days I'll get an angry customer that actually does show up at 10pm on a Saturday. 🤦♂️
I'm going to keep working on this and let you know if I figure anything out. Thanks
I've actually got a fix for this, credit to our marketing specialist. You need to get in the back end where lots of things can be changed but follow this step by step to change the wording for the "usually ready in 5+ days" line.
Settings(bottom left) - Store languages - Change them language - exit out of the pop up - Click "Checkout & System" towards the top right - Press Ctrl F to open search bar - Type in "store availability pick up time" - You should be at the options where you can re-word however you want to and then save it. Here is a link to my page if you want to see it. Go to any product. Todd
2024 and this worked! Thank you!
does anyone have an actual FIX FOR THIS? I followed all the instructions on these forums, to no avail. I've been trying to figure this out for over 3 years, the exact wording should be found in the coding, but it is not. There is no section that pretains to this section in the coding or theme sections. It's only on some of my products, but not all....which is even more weird. The fact shopify tells my customers it is ready for pick up with thie 'due date' is unfortunate. HOW DO WE FIX THIS?
